An Excellent Bheri River Fishing Expedition

Our five-day Bheri River fishing expedition was an unforgettable experience. Subas Adhikari organized everything professionally, while Raju Magar and Ashok Gautam brought excellent knowledge of the river and fishing areas. We had a wonderful time targeting Mahseer and Goonch, camping beside the river, and traveling through the remote landscapes of western Nepal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Whitewater rafting is an exciting outdoor adventure where participants paddle together in an inflatable raft through moving river water, waves, and rapids. It combines teamwork, adventure, and beautiful natural scenery. In Nepal, rivers such as the Trishuli, Seti, and Karnali offer rafting experiences ranging from gentle family-friendly stretches to challenging whitewater adventures. With Budhi Gandaki Rafting, guests receive safety instructions, appropriate equipment, and guidance from experienced river guides before starting their journey.

The best seasons for rafting in Nepal are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Spring offers warming weather, enjoyable river adventures, and beautiful scenery, while autumn is popular for its pleasant temperatures and post-monsoon landscapes. Winter can be suitable for selected rivers, depending on water levels and weather conditions. During the monsoon (June to August), rivers can become much higher and more powerful, so rafting depends on local conditions and professional safety assessments. Our team at Budhi Gandaki Rafting can help you choose the right river and season for your adventure.

Booking a rafting trip with Budhi Gandaki Rafting is easy. Contact our team through our website, email, phone, or visit our office in Thamel, Kesarmahal, Kathmandu, Nepal. Let us know your preferred river, travel date, number of participants, and package. Our team will help you choose the right adventure, confirm availability, and explain the pricing, transportation, and package inclusions.

Once your booking is confirmed and any required advance payment is completed, we will provide your meeting point, departure time, and preparation instructions. We look forward to welcoming you for an unforgettable river adventure in Nepal!

Yes, rafting can be a safe and enjoyable adventure when it is operated professionally and appropriate safety procedures are followed. At Budhi Gandaki Rafting, our team prioritizes guest safety by providing essential safety equipment, including helmets and life jackets, pre-trip safety briefings, and guidance from experienced river guides. We assess river and weather conditions before each trip and adjust or postpone departures when conditions are unsafe. Guests must follow their guides’ instructions throughout the journey. The level of risk varies depending on the river, rapid difficulty, and water conditions, so choosing a suitable rafting trip is essential for a safe and memorable experience in Nepal.

No, prior rafting experience is not required for most beginner-friendly rafting trips in Nepal. Budhi Gandaki Rafting welcomes first-time rafters, families, couples, and adventure enthusiasts. Before the trip begins, our experienced river guides provide a safety briefing and explain basic paddling techniques and river safety instructions. We help you choose a suitable river based on your experience, fitness level, and comfort. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced adventurer, we aim to make your rafting experience safe, enjoyable, and memorable.

Whitewater rafting is generally classified into six grades, from Class I to Class VI, based on the difficulty and technical challenges of the river.

  • Grade I – Easy: Gentle moving water with small waves, suitable for beginners.
  • Grade II – Novice: Small rapids with clear passages and manageable obstacles.
  • Grade III – Intermediate: Moderate rapids with stronger waves and some technical manoeuvring.
  • Grade IV – Advanced: Powerful rapids requiring precise paddling, teamwork, and experienced guides.
  • Grade V – Expert: Extremely challenging rapids requiring highly skilled paddlers and specialised experience.
  • Grade VI – Extreme: Exceptionally dangerous rapids that are generally considered unrunnable under normal conditions.

In Nepal, rivers such as the Trishuli offer Grade II–III rapids in many sections, while other rivers provide more challenging whitewater adventures. Actual difficulty can change with the season, water level, and river conditions. At Budhi Gandaki Rafting, our team helps guests select a suitable trip based on their experience and current river conditions.

For rafting trips with Budhi Gandaki Rafting, you do not need to bring your own rafting equipment. We provide essential safety gear, including helmets and life jackets, along with paddles and rafts.

For fishing trips, we highly recommend bringing your own fishing equipment, including your fishing rod, reel, fishing line, hooks, lures, flies, and other personal fishing accessories suited to your target species. This is especially important for our Golden Mahseer and Goonch fishing expeditions in Nepal. Bringing your preferred tackle helps you fish with familiar equipment and techniques. Please contact our team before departure to confirm the recommended fishing gear, local regulations, and any equipment available through the package.

The duration of a rafting trip depends on the river, route, and package you choose. With Budhi Gandaki Rafting, you can enjoy anything from a short adventure to a multi-day river expedition.

  • Short rafting trip: Approximately 2–3 hours on selected river sections.
  • One-day rafting: Around 3–5 hours on the river, depending on the route and water conditions.
  • Overnight rafting: 2 days and 1 night, including riverside camping or accommodation, depending on the package.
  • Multi-day rafting expedition: 3 days or longer, with extended whitewater adventures, camping, and scenic river journeys.
  • Long river expeditions: Trips such as Karnali River Rafting can last around 10 days, depending on the itinerary.

Our popular Trishuli River Rafting trip is an excellent option for travelers looking for a one-day adventure from Kathmandu or Pokhara. Contact our team to choose a rafting trip that suits your schedule, experience, and adventure preferences.
