Babai River Fishing is a rewarding short fishing adventure in western Nepal. This 4-day, 3-night fishing program is designed for anglers who want to experience the Babai River, enjoy two full days of fishing, and explore the natural beauty of western Nepal.

The program begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, followed by a scenic drive to the Babai River and Chepang area. After two full days of fishing and riverside camping, the journey returns to Nepalgunj for a flight back to Kathmandu.

Adventure Itinerary

Your Babai River Golden Mahseer fishing adventure begins with a warm welcome at Nepalgunj Airport. Our fishing team will meet you on arrival and drive you toward Bardia National Park and the remote Babai River, one of western Nepal's beautiful wilderness areas.

Enjoy the scenic drive through the Terai countryside as we make our way toward the river. After arriving in the Bardia area, settle in and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch before beginning the expedition.

Following lunch, your experienced fishing guide will conduct a comprehensive fishing and river briefing. You will learn about the Babai River, local fishing conditions, target species, recommended techniques, river safety, and the fishing sections we plan to explore during the expedition. The team will also prepare and check your fishing equipment before heading to the river.

First Fishing Session on the Babai River

With the preparations complete, begin your first fishing session of the expedition. Spend the afternoon exploring carefully selected fishing pools, runs, and river sections in search of the legendary Golden Mahseer, along with other native freshwater species.

Your experienced guide will work with you throughout the session, helping identify promising water, choose suitable techniques, and make the most of the changing river conditions. The combination of wild surroundings, flowing water, and the possibility of encountering a powerful Golden Mahseer makes this a memorable introduction to western Nepal's fishing wilderness.

Spend the day fishing in the heart of the Bardia wilderness, surrounded by forests, river landscapes, and the natural beauty of western Nepal. Along with Golden Mahseer, there may be opportunities to encounter other native freshwater species depending on the season and river conditions.

A riverside lunch will be served during the day's fishing, allowing you to rest and recharge before continuing your fishing adventure.
