What we enjoyed most was that this trip was much more than rafting. Along the river we saw forests, villages, farmland, rocky landscapes, and beautiful countryside. The visit to Narsing Dham also added a cultural element to the journey. It was a great way to experience the natural and local side of Nepal while enjoying an exciting river adventure.
We loved the combination of white-water rafting and wilderness camping. After an exciting day on the river, arriving at the riverside camp was wonderful. The peaceful surroundings, good food, campfire, and sound of the river made the evening very special. It felt like a genuine adventure in rural Nepal rather than a typical tourist activity.
From the preparation and safety briefing to the final section of the river, everything was well organized. The rafting team communicated clearly and guided us through the river with confidence. Budhi Gandaki River Rafting is an exciting multi-day white-water adventure in Nepal, combining thrilling rapids, scenic landscapes, traditional villages, forests, and riverside camping.
The standard rafting adventure is 2 days and 1 night. The trip includes rafting on both days and an overnight riverside camp at Aankhu Dovan.
The trip involves genuine white-water sections and is more adventurous than a typical easy rafting experience. Beginners with reasonable fitness can participate when accompanied by professional guides and safety kayakers, subject to river conditions.
The best time generally depends on river conditions and the type of rafting experience you prefer. Spring and autumn usually offer favorable conditions, while water levels can be significantly higher during the monsoon season.
Safety is a priority throughout the trip. Rafting is conducted with professional river guides, safety equipment, and appropriate support based on river conditions. The itinerary may be adjusted, postponed, or modified when water levels, weather, or other conditions are considered unsuitable for safe rafting.
This is a Class IV trip requiring good physical fitness. You should be comfortable swimming in moving water and able to paddle for 4-6 hours daily. Prior rafting experience is helpful but not mandatory.
The package can include transportation, professional river guides, safety kayakers, rafting equipment, meals during the trip, camping equipment, riverside accommodation, permits where required, and camp activities. Exact inclusions should be confirmed when booking.
Our Budhi Gandaki River Rafting trips operate with 4–16 participants per group. We maintain a minimum guide-to-paddler ratio of 1:8, ensuring professional guidance, safety, and personalized attention throughout the rafting adventure.
We camp on sandy beaches along the riverbank. You will be provided with a two-person tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping mat. Meals are prepared fresh by our camp cook.
Essential items include quick-dry clothing, water sandals or shoes with heel straps, sunscreen, sunglasses with strap, and a change of warm clothes for evenings. We provide a detailed packing list upon booking.
